Hello, I am so glad you've found me! My name is Marika Emerson D'Orel. I am a Graduate Gemologist (GIA GG) and jewelry appraiser working in Rocky River and Cleveland, Ohio. I primarily work by appointment out of my Rocky River jewelry showroom. I am also available to meet clients at their home, office or locale of choice – this service is available within 25 miles of the general Cleveland area for an additional fee.

Whether you are interested in jewelry appraisal, gemological identification, brokerage, or consultation, I am happy to be of assistance. I work with a talented goldsmith in the Cleveland area and offer additional client services related to jewelry design: creating custom jewelry and sourcing materials or crafting a redesign using jewelry or gems that are already part of a client's collection. I'm also happy to offer jewelry repair and resizing services - sometimes as part of the course of appraisal, we will find that certain repairs should take place to keep a piece in wearable condition. 

Questions I am asked often by new clients: Do I need a full appraisal? How should I go about selling a piece of jewelry? Are the pieces of jewelry/gems I inherited fine or costume?

For clients who aren't sure which category of appointment is best for their needs, I offer jewelry box sort-through appointments: this is a verbal evaluation where we will sit down together and go through everything, piece by piece. During a verbal evaluation, I assist in putting pieces into piles (genuine vs. costume is one example) and providing more information about what it is that the client has.  These appointments are billed hourly with a half-hour minimum. At the end of the sort-through, if there is a need for additional services (appraisal, identifications, brokerage, etc.,) I am happy to be of help.
